Brian Blackwood - BMB270 CEO and Retired Maywood Police Officer

A former police officer from Maywood, Illinois, Brian Black served as an officer for the Village of Maywood for 15 years, beginning in 1997. A year after he left the Village of Maywood Police Department, Brian Black changed careers and began working with New Life Community Ministries as its CEO. He assisted in managing the church’s daycare, private school, and after-school food program, among other duties.

In 2018, The Salvation Army, Metropolitan Division-Hope Strong Ministries, hired him as its fatherhood-in-action facilitator. This role involved helping the organization coordinate activities, such as a 40-hour parenting and relationship component. He also collaborated with financial education and employment readiness service providers to ensure continuity of care for clients.

Mr. Black remained with The Salvation Army for a year before being hired as the CEO of BMB270 Company, LLC, in 2019. In this role, he provides leadership for the company, communicates effectively with employees and customers, develops and implements the company’s strategic plan, and oversees company operations and employees.

Mr. Black is a member of the FMA Ministerial Alliance. In addition, while part of the police force, he served as the community liaison in law enforcement for a decade, cultivating supportive connections between the department and the community.
